Who we are
Duly Noted is a memory and journaling product that captures the professional notes you write — meetings, calls, ideas — and quietly extracts the people, decisions, and commitments inside them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. In this document, "we," "us," and "Duly Noted" refer to the operators of the Duly Noted service.
Data we collect
- Account information — your email address and authentication credentials, so you can sign in and we can reach you about your account.
- The notes and captures you write — the content you type or paste into Duly Noted, and the people, decisions, and commitments extracted from it. This is the heart of the service and it belongs to you.
- Basic usage and diagnostics — limited technical data such as error logs and aggregate usage signals, used to keep the service running and improve reliability. We do not build advertising profiles.
We do not access your microphone, your calendar, or your meetings. Duly Noted only ever sees what you choose to put into it.
How we use it
We use your data to provide the service: to store your notes, to run the AI extraction of people, decisions, and commitments, to answer your questions about your own history with citations, and to generate the day "fingerprints." We use diagnostics to operate and improve the product.
AI processing
We use frontier large language models to extract structure from your notes and to power plain-English question answering over your own content. We do not train models on your content. Your notes are used to serve you — not to train general-purpose models, ours or anyone else's.
Storage & security
Your data is encrypted at rest and stored on servers we operate. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your notes is a first-order priority, not an afterthought.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your notes with third parties for their own purposes. We rely on a limited set of sub-processors — for example, infrastructure hosting and the AI model providers that perform extraction and Q&A — strictly to provide the service to you, and under contractual confidentiality obligations.
Your rights
You can export everything as plain JSON or markdown at any time. If you delete your account, we erase your data within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data; contact us and we'll help.
Cookies & local storage
We use cookies and local storage for two purposes: to remember your interface preferences (theme, accent color, density) and to keep you securely signed in (authentication and session). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
Duly Noted is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
